Marie Helene Desaunettes

Marie Helene Desaunettes was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1995 after completing a two-year clerkship with the judges of the Superior Court of Quebec, first as an articling student and then as an associate, during which she worked closely with Chief Justice Lawrence Poitras and other Superior Court judges.

She joined the Bélanger Longtin team in 2026 as a senior litigator practicing in professional liability, civil liability and insurance law.

With over 30 years’ experience in litigation and civil liability, as well as more than 15 years in insurance and construction law, she supports a diverse clientele – insurers, contractors and building professionals – in complex and technical cases.

Appreciated for the accuracy of her analyses, her strategic sense and her effectiveness in dispute resolution, she adopts a rigorous, results-oriented approach. She has managed a number of high-stakes financial projects, and regularly works with experts to deliver customized, optimal solutions.

Alongside her practice, she has developed expertise in collective action.
