Sophie Béland was admitted to the Québec Bar in 2019. Before joining Bélanger Longtin, she completed a two-year mandate with the Québec Court of Appeal (as an intern for the first six months and then as a research attorney) during which she worked closely with the Honourable Claudine Roy, as well as other Court of Appeal judges.
Sophie holds a law degree from the University of Montréal and has also completed the Juris Doctor program in Common Law at Osgoode Hall, York University Faculty of Law in Toronto.
During her university education, she completed a research internship with the Honourable Geneviève Marcotte, a judge of the Québec Court of Appeal and has volunteered at the Centre Francophone de Toronto (Legal Aid Ontario) through the Pro Bono Students Canada. She was also a research assistant at the Centre de Génomique et Politiques de la Faculté de médecine de l’Université McGill as well as research assistant in the areas of Aboriginal law and environmental law at Osgoode Hall.
